Took this video after running 7.5 miles yesterday! No more build up or base building! Time to get started on actual marathon training! I’m so happy to start my first speed work session on Tuesday. Six months ago I decided to run a marathon and have been working on increasing my time in the sneakers. Seven weeks ago I picked up the Gipis training plan for my marathon. I chose it because it is really customized with realistic goals, which I like. You plug in info about you and current level of fitness with your goal distance and race date. It gives you an estimated finish time and training plan to get there. Mine estimates I can finish in about 4 hours and 30 minutes (which was my super stretch goal) if I stick to the plan. So far so good – I haven’t missed a single one.
